LEADERSHIP TENNESSEE NEXT

Leadership Tennessee NEXT is an opportunity for early to mid career young leaders to create cross-state, cross-sector networks, learn about Tennessee’s strengths and challenges, and prepare to serve their local and professional communities as they become the next generation of Tennessee leaders.

Leadership Tennessee NEXT is not a precursor to Leadership Tennessee’s Signature Program, Leadership Tennessee’s flagship program designed for established leaders.

ABOUT NEXT

NEXT is:

An opportunity for early and mid-career leaders to create cross-state, cross-sector networks, learn about Tennessee’s strengths and challenges, and prepare to serve their local and professional communities.
A cross-sector, cross-generational networking and learning opportunity linking Tennessee’s growing leaders with the Signature Program network.

NEXT is not:

A prerequisite for selection into to the Signature Program.
A guarantee that a participant will be accepted into the Signature Program in the future.

IDEAL NOMINEES

A dynamic mid-level professional who is 5-15 years into their current career. Participants will typically be under 40 years of age, but there is no specific age restriction.
A professional who both excels in his/her field, engages in committed service to their various communities, and would benefit from connection to peers in different sectors and geographic regions.
An individual who has passion for their community, their career sector, and the state of Tennessee and who can, and will, translate those talents into fulfilling the vision of Leadership Tennessee: Tennessee will be known nationally as a state where leaders and engaged citizens are connected, well-informed, and committed to solving problems through strategic dialogue and balanced, pragmatic approach.

IMPORTANT NOMINATION INFORMATION

Nominations will be accepted until September 1, 2025 and reviewed by an anonymous selection committee. Selected nominees will be invited to apply.

Class XII selections will be made by November 2025.
Class XII sessions will commence January 2026 conclude May 2026.
Nominations submitted after September 1, 2025 will be considered for Class XIII.
